Fun cakes for ANY occasion

LOVE these cakes by a friend of mine Karen Rugero of Katana Cakes. Karen and I worked together years ago at The Charthouse Restaurant. Always an artist Karen and I clicked, and she went on to do many things including at one point her own skin care line! I have to say that her cakes are by far some of the best I have seen. When I am looking for a really fun grooms cake for a wedding, or a birthday party for someone of any age, her cakes are perfect!! Here are a few of my favorites:

YUMMY Treats :)

Happy Monday! Last night was a great success for Joanie and Sebastian's wedding. I am excited to post some pictures, and will do so soon..... For now I have to share with you the Candy Bar Carrie and I did for them! Such a simple touch for something sweet. To DIY simply head to your nearest craft store, pick up some great jars, baskets, tins, or even floral vases.  Add your favorite candy and you're done! We got these great wooden letters for their names and a fun chalkboard to add a little LOVE.

This one was our traditional Candy Bar, but anything can be done. Come October we are doing black and white cotton candy for Sara and Brandon's wedding!

Yummy!

I am so open to all ideas when it comes to Wedding cake. I have done so many cupcakes, dessert bars, and candy bars, but as well I always appreciate the Classic wedding cake. These are just a few from my 2009 weddings that I loved. Plus the last one of my dear girlfriend's wedding, she had an incredible dessert bar in addition to a great cupcake set up! Love you Laura and Kyle:)

Malibu West Beach Club Christmas Party 2009

I Love Christmas!! Especially when it involves Tra Di Noi, Dandy Dons Ice Cream Bar, and Santa! This was such a fun event to do. With the designs of Carrie, CFS Design, including the Winter Wonderland Christmas Tree, we had a winter "Dinner by the Fire" themed Christmas Party. Local Resident Antonio (and owner of Tra Di Noi,) catered with incredible pasta dishes, appetizers, and salads that were mouthwatering. We had an Ice Cream Sunday bar by Dandy Don's with everything from Chocolate Fudge to Lemon Sorbet. And... what would a Christmas party be without Santa!
